2008 BMW 5-Series Premium Midsize Cars
2008 BMW 5-Series as a 6-cylinder engine and a little refreshing exterior styling. This premium medium sedan and wagon arrived in the rear-and all-wheel-drive versions. Lineup starts with 528i and all-wheel-drive 528xi sedan, which replace the 525i and 525xi. A step up is the 535i sedan and 535xi AWD sedan and wagon, which replaced the 530i and 530xi. 528 and 535 that a new 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine have, that makes 230 hp in the 528s, 300 in the turbo 535s. Unchanged for '08 is the 550i sedan, which has a 360 horsepower V8, and high-performance M5, 500 hp V10 and the sports suspension has. All are available with 6-speed. All the M5, but also offers a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission with available steering wheel shift paddles. When equipped with the available Sport Package, 535i and 550 models have a choice of 6-speed automated manual transmission. Available in the BMW M5 is a 7-speed automated manual transmission. Facilitate automated manual transmission changes through floor shifter or steering wheel straps. Transmission can also be set to move like an automaton. Standard on all models are ABS, traction control, charging, front side airbags, curtain and side airbags. Rear airbags are optional. BMW Assist emergency and concierge service are also standard. All models BMW iDrive, which uses the console for the entertainment, navigation, communication and climate functions. Available features include sports suspension work together with run-flat tires, BMW Active Roll Stabilization designed to counter body lean, and BMW's Active Steering that electronically varies steering ratio and helpful.
