2008 Lexus GS a few revised styling and new V8 engines. This is a sportier Lexus' two medium-premium car. The GS lineup starts with the GS 350, which has a 303-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. This is available with rear-or all-wheel drive. New for 2008 is the GS 460. This has a 342-hp 4.6-liter V8 and an 8-speed automatic. GS 460 is rear drive only. No change from 2007 is a gas / electric hybrid GS 450h. GS 450h team V6 gasoline engine with an electric motor to produce 339 hp. Like Lexus and Toyota hybrids, can run on one or both of these resources, depending on driving demands, and does not require a plug-in charging. The GS 450h has kept variable automatic transmission (CVT). Security features that are available include ABS, traction control, charging system, curtain side airbags, front side airbags, and front knee airbags. Standard also: leather upholstery and keyless entry and engine start. Many control functions via touch screen control panel that also displays the available navigation system and camera glass. Other features available include steering-linked headlamps and Lexus' Pre-Collision System, designed to automatically win a seat belt and apply the brakes if an accident is unavoidable detected.
