Peugeot may have just come late to the idea of crossover, but the word appears so often in all publicity material must compensate for the new 3008 for each time lag. Here, there are some that cross the boundaries: the 3008 is part SUV, part estate car, the hatchback, the MPV. It was high but did not have four-wheel drive, instead offering (optional, and not in the test car) that 'the grip of control' system that is not good at something with traction control and ESP on slippery surfaces like snow, mud or sand.

But that's hardly the main point. As has been done with the Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot tried to attract buyers' fantasies by offering a sense of SUVs without the burden, cost and social shame the truth. In the case of Nissan, so successful was the idea that the company left the ordinary hatchback idea at all, but Peugeot will not do it. In contrast, the 3008 is a long and hatching rates between 308 and 308 SW estate. Given that the version 2.0 HDI 148bhp Sport tested here is not 308's 134bhp, it has seemed good value.

Partly styling is a subjective business, but few people would rain as Peugeots new design aesthetic achievement in the history of free enterprise, decorated with handsome car. The sawn-off, oddly shaped wheel arches are part of the most troubling, while the high waist 3008, although successful in instilling a sense of power, making for complex maneuvers. These cars and RCZ will be the last Peugeots to wear in front of the rictus grin, and we should probably be pleased.

Peugeot's crossover is not a credible Convey faux-SUV ruggedness, though, with the butch attitude and skidplates false front and rear. The arrow-like tail-lights are interesting - like the fact that, amazing, aerodynamic drag coefficient is only 0296.

The 3008 uses familiar version of PSA group Platform Two, which also supports the regular 308, the new 5008 Citroën MPV and their relatives. That means that the rear suspension is a simple torsion beam - Peugeot has been left trailing arms had been fully independent chassis with the signature, on the basis of cost - but in the 3008s the most powerful of the rear suspension of extras, the center dampers designed to reduce body roll.

Next year we will see a range of 3008 Hybrid 4 join, with four-wheel drive electric motor thanks to the addition of the rear wheels. The pair of power units will create a total of £ 369 and 197bhp ft of torque, but the value of CO2 output at the current state of development just 109g/km.
