Rossi Stuns on 2010 Ferrari GP2

Rossi Stuns on 2010 Ferrari GP2
Valentino Rossi happy with a strong showing at the Ferrari test Formula One cars in Catalonia. Ferrari driving on the 2008-spec GP2 tires, Rossi got in 0.1sec from Kimi Raikkonen's 2008 pole position time in the Barcelona circuit, although direct comparison is difficult given the different conditions and configurations of the car.

"We kept the last three quarters of an hour to try to 'time attack' with a little gasoline and fresh tires," said Rossi. "I would give anything for the lap time." Rossi last tested for Ferrari at Mugello in 2008 and Rossi said he preferred the Catalunya circuit.

"It's more fun in here, because it was a little easier," he said. "It's more effort in Mugello, but this song here is really beautiful, with motorcycles and cars, though I must say that Turn 10 is a bit tight and you're braking much later."

Ferrari Luca Baldisserri impressed with Rossi's performance in exams, although difficult conditions on the first day, which is interrupted by wet weather. "We're trying to set-up is different and he improved a lot," he said. "This means that the driver learns quickly and has room for improvement."
