This is AC MkVI; call it AC Cobra with a difference. If the idea of German-made using AC Cobra and Porsche Corvette engine brake is a kind of thing that makes you vomit your Cornflakes, probably better if you turn away now. However, if you always imagined AC Cobra - AC Cobra appropriate - but always thought they were going a little, how shall we say, cruddy to drive, AC MkVI may be worth your attention.

It's not cheap at around £ 90,000, but then there was a car wearing a badge of AC with 432bhp from 6.2-liter V8 under the hood tends to reach. What do you get with this car is basically a build integrity german very clear mated with a slice of British heritage, with a large side order of Century 22 performance to collect the goods. Made under license to AC Car with Gullwing in Heyda GmbH, Germany, AC MkVI provides truly deceptive mixture of old world styling values with a dynamic new world.

Cabin, including a narrow dimension and elbows-out driving position, almost exactly as it was 48 years ago, when Carroll Shelby AC Cars to persuade him to build a car with which to go racing. Even the smell of yesterday, thanks to the heady mix of spicy leather trim and hot exhaust gases. And when you turn the key and a Corvette engine roared into life, it sounds just like a big block Ford from 1968. Except not even one of them could provide a kind of mad performance of this car can produce a twitch in your right leg.

There are two engines: a normally aspirated 432bhp and a supercharged version with 640bhp, courtesy of the mighty Corvette ZR1. Even with only 432bhp it was mind-bogglingly fast. Throttle response strong festive outside 2000rpm, and 4000rpm acceleration over the border is not comfortable. During the race we had a sudden attraction to the ZR1 to produce a video event, it was blowing in the Corvette into the bushes to 100mph. But it rides / handles / stopping / directing it right.
