2011 Citroen Revolte - futuristic interior design
This is a concept car Citroen Revolte - was established in last year's Frankfurt motor show - in a hitherto unseen detail. Following an exclusive tour of Rebellion by Citroen Citroen boss Carlo design concept Bonzanigo, autocar.co.uk 's Hilton Holloway explains:' Mini-sized Revolte concept that Citroen is the first sign may be ready to exploit and re retro design - exploring the essence of 'Frenchness 'in a way that might be of interest right across Europe. "

The Revolte is 3.8M long and based on the same platform as C3 and DS3, but there is no overhang, and a variety of songs. What's the most obvious is a clear reference to 2cV, through shutline curved from the back door, on the wings and front hooped wide, flat rear elevation.

Faced with entering a new decade as a producer of a strange mixture of practical and perfect superminis people-carrier and boring hatch, Citroen clear need convincing fingernails new product philosophy. True, there is a DS3, but the ad makes the point rather than lapsing into the retro design. So what is the use of ultra-retro concept of rebellion?

"The Revolte is a small urban luxury car. The main idea, perhaps, is to express a luxury in a different way," said Bonzanigo. "I saw the Citroen as most of Paris from three French automotive brand. Paris is the center of world fashion, so the color and trim is very important in this project. We do not want to just use the leather, chrome and wood, so we have used the crystal."

Does this mean that the feminine car, aimed at women? Bonzanigo just say "a woman like a man's car but maybe not vice versa. If we go into mass production, the end of the car not only for women or only for men. But to make this a very feminine car is okay for a concept."

Bonzanigo cabin also highlights the two zones. "In the front there are race-hard style carbonfibre seats, which combined with a cocoon-like cabin behind. Cockpit cooler and the driver's seat like a foreign object in the context of the whole mind."

So is 2cV new Revolte or not?

"Of course 2cV influence," said Bozanigo. "We can now shamelessly talking about the future and our history in one breath. Citroen is ready for the next step. But this is not a retro design. It contains quotes from the past. The 2cV the simple and important; the rich Revolte."

Holloway concluded by acknowledging the confusion with the concept. "Is it going to come into production, and how it fits with the DS3, would not disclose Bozanigo. But Citroen is necessary to follow the steps of the Peugeot and really get a grip on a successful product philosophy is frustrating ties loose ends"
