You would not know it from the outside, but this is the new Suzuki SX4. Under-body barely changed, there is a very re-version 1.6-liter VVT petrol engine. The biggest change is the new cylinder heads and blocks, changing the valve lift and variable time-inlet manifold. The result is a 10 percent increase in power and economy and CO2 emissions 13 percent lower, plus the Euro-5 status. Our test car came in two-wheel drive, mid-spec trim SZ4 with the standard five-speed box, and proved to be as fun as it was before the SX4 has a modernized guts. Engine smoother than before, partly thanks to the upgrades and add insulation cabin, and it still is useful to use the motor in the city or in a B-road.
Venture into the highway and the engine became noisy and reluctant to offer a lot of acceleration. It improved, but still small, naturally aspirated engine mated to a five speed, and therefore Äòbox will push the upper reaches of the rev range until you violate the speed limit. That, AOS uncomfortable noisy, but, AOS way off peacefully.
Unfortunately that is not the biggest defect in the SX4, that honor fell to the quality up. The damper successfully absorb small surface imperfections, but the company set up in many body movements, even more than the small undulations in the road.
SX4 proved beyond comfortable and not offensive. Heavier steering at parking speeds than in most other modern superminis, but has a durability and consistent accuracy for the things that allows for a degree of entertainment and ease of use. Ease of use also characterizes the rest of the car. There, both AOS visibility, reasonable people and space for luggage and clearly laid out fresh switch. New digital readings have been added, and in this trim you get keyless entry, 16-inch alloys, automatic air conditioning and audio controls on steering wheel leather.
