It's the Audi A7. Or rather, it will be. At that time still in the car show and the stage was called Sportback concept.

The Sportback actually been around for a while. It was established in the Detroit motor show in January 2009, but because the A7 which will lay eggs as still in the early stages of development, it took until December '09 for Audi to let reporters near another concept car.

If you like the look Sportback concept, the good news is that the A7 production, which will be introduced at the end of 2010, will look a lot like that.

According to Audi's head of exterior design, Achim Badstubner-D, which is shaped as close Sportback concept reaches production sign-off. Some curves will have a radius different, will the bumper marginal change after productionised, and coupe-and-glass roof line as the region - all swooping from the windshield base for the boot lid - will sit 10mm higher.

Coupe-esque that the roof is the whole purpose A7. Germany did not think the premium hatchbacks, so the A7, such as four-and five-door 'coupe' (think Mercedes CLS series and 5-GT) is their attempt to change all that. Audi thinks big two-door coupe (like the CL or the 6-Series) is a car for old people, and that the four-door coupe is a younger, dynamic answer. Cars for people who have children, rather than empty-nesters.

It is trying to create a desirable hatchback, for short.

For that, A7 will sit on the Audi A6 in the range, is more in accordance with A8. Its mechanical architecture a little mixture of both - the floor, the most crucial, will the A6 - but most of the machines will Common in all three ranges, while the interior A7 will owe more to the new A8 than the A6. Will be the same quality of materials.

Which still Sportback concept car, which massively important to remember when driving it, because frankly it was rubbish. But so is every car, from every manufacturer, was intended to do nothing but sit on a show stand.

If there is, the Sportback is a wonderful illustration of the effort that goes into engineering the car today. The Sportback is moving under their own 3.0-liter turbodiesel steam but it was noisy, rides are and has more squeaks and vibrating than Dave Snake Mouse and Exotic Emporium. A7 production will not be like that.

There are signs of promise, too. New A8 interior looks good, with a very luxurious boat-throttle imitate gearlever, so if Sportback's nautically inspired to make the wood trim through the production of the right there, happily inspired-cabin yacht.

Even in the concept, the head of the disturbed by 10mm over the standard car, there is decent headroom (Sportback skylight A7 will be an option, while the back room was fine, although for two only). The third rear seat would mean that the roof should be higher and that, for the "design-led company," will not do it. Boot, thanks to the high beltline, should prove sufficiently accommodative.

Engine and gearbox line-up will most closely reflect the A8 because A7, such as the BMW 5-GT series, trying to become a premium. Expect two and four-wheel-drive version and, later, of an S7, with less probability of RS7.

When you write you still can not, so, more importantly - how long I should wait and at what cost?

There is every chance A7 production will be introduced at the Paris Motor Show in September before going on sale near the end of the year 2010, with the right prostitutes following the first month of 2011.

At Audi Sportback presentation shows that there is a fair gap between where the A6 Avant A8 stopped and started. In England it was 12 thousand. Meat from the range A7, therefore, will be between them both.
