1973 Maserati Bora 4.7L V8
Bora breaks with the tradition of the previous road-going engine Maseratis with a centrally mounted behind the driver. The 4.7-liter four-cam V8 engine produces 310bhp at 6000rpm and torque of 340 pounds ft and rear wheels through a five-speed ZF gearbox. Everything except the radiator and spare wheel are contained in 8ft 6in wheelbase so the overall length is still small and there should be little change in handling characteristics when the fuel tank and luggage space is filled. Suspension is a conventional steel spring and wishbones front and rear, but use Citroën Maserati for a series of pressurized hydraulic brake, the pedal because almost no movement.
