This is GRMN Hybrid Sports Concept - the clearest indication yet recognized Toyota intends to make the car fun to drive again. Today unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the two-seat, four-wheel drive hybrid is based on the MR2 out the platform, and powered by a mid mounted 3.3-liter V6 plus THSII Toyota hybrid system. The end result is a 'more than 392bhp' according to Toyota.

The V6 drives the rear wheels, while the electric motor pushing the front. May be driving in EV mode dwell in the city, with a V6 firing when called upon.

The car weighs 1500kg, and unofficial reports indicate he moves from 0-60mph in under 4.5sec.

Advised people in the car based around the concepts may GRMN Hybrid Sport for sale as soon as 2011, and that some of the motivation behind putting the car into production as to stop the Honda CR-Z - who has a relatively moderate performance - stole the limelight as the first in hybrid sports world.

GRMN stands for Master of Gazoo Racing Nurburgring. Akio Toyoda, CEO toyota race for Gazoo Racing Team, including recently entered the Nurburgring 24 Hours race at the wheel of the Lexus LFA.
