Honda has released the full spec details of the new V8 race cars in Japan, HSV 010. Although Honda calls "sports car specifically developed for the Japanese Super GT category", was loosely based on the Honda, AOS axed 'next NSX' project. Honda put a lot of time and work into a new front V10 engine developing super-coupe, to go head to head with Lexus LFA.

The car was seen testing and close to being signed off when the Honda pulled the plug on winter 2008 as the economic crisis, about the same time Honda announced it stop Formula One. Source says Honda, AOS plans to launch a new super-coupe as the Acura Sports V10, the launch coincided with the debut of the Acura, Honda, dealerships luxury AOS channel, in Japan.

In the end, both projects have the cans, but not before Honda put a little work in developing a separate, pure race version of the Acura Sports for Super GT, Japan, is very popular AOS tin-top series races.

Super GT version of the Acura Sports car road will bring, AOS silhouette but underneath it will be completely different, with all new chassis and exchanged carbonfibre driveway, AOS 5.0-liter V10, good for 500bhp AI plus, AI-bred to race in naturally aspirated 3.4-liter V8 Super GT to meet the new regs.

The HSV-010 GT is 4675mm long and 2000mm wide, while the wheelbase is 2700mm. Will have a minimum weight of 110kg. It's also got all round double wishbone suspension.

Street cars, AOS high performance, rear-biased 4WD system Super Handling has also been replaced with a simpler, more powerful rear drive layout, once again to meet the Super GT regs.

Honda will build a limited run of race cars to meet the requirements of the Super GT teams, but has emphasized race car will not be sold, also form the basis of a road car.

That, AOS 90-degree V8 with a capacity of 3400cc, rev-limited to 10,300 rpm and good for 600bhp plus. Super GT task, the machine must be reworked significantly greater endurance spec. Super GT race longer and harder than the Formula Nippon and each engine must last for four races.

V8 engines will also be limited to air-500bhp to meet the regs in the Super GT, GT500 AOS upper class, but will lose the rev limiter.
