2010 Mercedes-Benz GP2 at the Jerez Circuit
Michael Schumacher completed a three-day test session with a GP2 car yesterday at the Jerez circuit, getting within four tenths of the track record. The seven-time champion had to flee again with the wet-weather tires in the morning, but could use slicks for the rest part of the session, which includes a total of 1151kms for a three-day exam.
Schumacher's best lap of 1m24.621s day is, four tenths slower than the record set by Kobayashi in track kamui Spain in October 2008.
"I really can drive a lot on this last day of testing and working perfectly," said Schumacher.
"I am very pleased with how the test go here: we worked with both, time and consistency is good, we can do everything that we had scheduled to do. I feel fit, I felt comfortable right back to the car - hey, let us go for it! "
